Soccer Scholarships

Soccer scholarships are considered "equivalency" scholarships. This means that coaches are able to divide the allotted number of scholarships amongst their players as partial scholarships as they see fit. Soccer scholarships are the way to go for those aspiring youth, who are willing to play soccer while they further their education. It is great to be able to find the correct academic placement for the Youth Soccer player.

One may find lists of camps online or contact your high school coach, club coach or local universities for information on camps.

One camp is offered by Chigozie Offor, a former Nigerian National team standout, the camp is called Top Seed Soccer and takes place in central Florida. Offor’s camp offers information on soccer fundamentals, college recruiting and soccer combine testing. With a number of college coaches in attendance they have hopes of doubling the number of soccer scholarships this year.

Is it Easier to Get a Scholarship Playing One Sport or More?

Then you better consider choosing one sport. Four years of the average athletic scholarship at a public school can range in the hundreds of thousands of dollars and much more for a private school.

You also better be playing for a club team or travel team year round. To get basketball scholarships, volleyball scholarships, soccer scholarships, baseball scholarships, etc. you must play in AAU, Junior Olympics and travel tournaments.

Some colleges will commend the fact that you are multi talented and play multiple sports.
